About Me

"Isolation only exists in isolation; once shared, it evaporates."  Irvin Yalom
Vivienne Herke

I am a registered  Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) , Membership No.  2011188786, and a registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to the codes of ethics and standards of practice of both of these organisations.  I am also a counselling supervisor at Webster Geneva where I have had the pleasure to supervise over 30 trainees and I run the student counselling center.

I am also a Counselling Psychologist in training as I am in the final year of a Phd at NSPC in London which is attached to Middlesex University, UK. This gave me the chance to hone my expertise in a relational existential-humanistic framework that integrates my previous training in CBT, EFT for couples and systemic therapy. My phenomenological research project is on partners of migrants and expats who don't feel settled living in Switzerland (Viva pending).

I have had a mixed career path in counselling, social work, law, marketing and HR moving freely between the public and private sectors over the last 30 years in a global context.
